Summer 2026
Meet Your New Classmates Before the Big Day
Starting school is a big moment. Our summer sessions give Primary 1’s the chance to meet their classmates and walk in on the first day with a familiar face.
A play session designed around starting school
Kids play together in our wee town, make new friends, and get comfortable around the faces they’ll see in the playground on day one. Parents get to meet each other too.
Sessions run July and August 2026. Each school has its own dedicated date.

My child is starting at a school not on the list. Can they still come?
What should my child wear?
When Margo attended the “meet your classmates” event at Kiltoonies before starting school, it was such a genuinely lovely experience for both her and us as parents. Starting school can feel like such a huge step for children, but Clare created an environment that instantly made the kids feel safe, excited, and included.
What stood out most was Clare herself. Her warmth, patience, and obvious affection for the children shines through in everything she does. Clare somehow manages to make every child feel individually seen, valued, and special, and it genuinely felt like she had a personal connection with all of the children there.
Margo came away smiling, confident, and excited for starting school, and I truly believe the event played a huge part in easing those nerves and helping her feel comfortable before such a big milestone.
We’ll always look back very fondly on that experience and would highly recommend Kiltoonies to any parent.
