All about our wee town

Kiltoonies is a fun role play activity centre based in Kilsyth.

Mayor Clare, owner and founder of Kiltoonies, grew up in Kilsyth and affectionately always called home “Kiltoon”.

Let’s take a little tour round our town

role play supermarket for children

Supermarket

Visit our shop and meet Isa our Shopkeeper.

You can use our interactive screen as your very own shopping list. Grab your trolley to go for your big shop with different types of food, fruit & vegetables. Look at the colours, shapes and learn all their names. Then ring them all up on Isa’s till.

role play activity centre be a doctor

Doctors Surgery

Work at the doctors with Dr Dove.

Become a doctor for the day and learn how to do an x-ray. Lots of medical equipment to explore as well as understanding body parts when you push the big yellow button for an X-Ray.

Police Station

Meet PC Cole, who is on hand in Kiltoonies to make sure all is in order.

If not then you might get sent to the Kiltoonies Jail. This is great area to play the game goodies and baddies, especially when the grown-ups get sent straight to jail.

role play be a fireman for the day

Fire Station

Ring the bell with Fireman Rodney and then you can jump into our small fire truck and head off on your way to save the day.

It’s fun to play at being a firefighter for the day!

role play library

School & Library

Mr Hamish & Lisa the Librarian welcome you along with lots of learning, puzzles and books and of course, lots of fun.

Learn the alphabet, play some music or just enjoy a good book in our cosy nook and meet other pupils in Kiltoon.

role play centre be a vet for the day

Vet

Vinny the Vet is always looking after our pets at Kiltoonies.

We use our interactive screen to X-ray our animals and help cure them. Lots of different animals all shapes and sizes and buttons to press to hear all the noises.

Cafe

Chef Onzo needs all hands on deck at the cafe.

A busy day cooking using the oven, cutting, mixing and baking and then serve it all to your guests, and why not finish off with a nice cup of tea. Another popular area for our wee ones, lots of cooking tasks to keep them busy.

play centre tunnel

Mining Tunnel

Head down into the Mine with Harry & Alice, our Miners.

Kilsyth has history with the mining days.  Back in the day, coal, iron and quarrying were the main mining activities in Kiltoon – and Mayor Claire’s grandad Harry was a miner.  Have fun heading down into the Mining tunnel.

role play for boys construction area

Construction area

Betty the Builder needs your help to build.

Use our bricks, remembering safety first with our hard hats and high vis jackets.

Lots of tools to keep us busy all day. The best bit is building all our bricks up only to knock them back down again.

Kiltoonies is Winner of the Most Loved Indoor Play Venue in the 2023 National Children’s Activities

We had our first amazing experience at Kiltoonies. There was so much for the teeny tots to do and explore. Auntie and her boys will be back soon. Thanks again xx
