The Creator of Kiltoonies
Clare, owner and founder of the award-winning indoor play centre, Kiltoonies, grew up in Kilsyth and affectionately always called home “Kiltoon”.
Before becoming “Mayor of Kiltoonies”, Clare had a previous career in corporate Management roles for companies like Marriott, Mecca Bingo and Hollywood Bowl. With the birth of her son Dale, her interest in children’s development through play began.
From 2016 she ran a franchise of Tots Play Development classes in a local village hall. They became so popular in the area – with most classes completely fully booked.
It was at this time, Clare was craving a challenge and simultaneously realised that her town and the families that she worked with, could really benefit from a children’s play centre in the area. However, she knew she wanted it to not just be another soft play centre.
Clare took time to develop a detailed plan, but then Kiltoonies was born. A role play centre with a difference – a mini version of her hometown, Kilsyth.
Kiltoonies was launched in 2022 and now employs several team members, offering play sessions 7 days a week.
Clare absolutely loves seeing first-hand the importance of child development. She is so proud of the number of families who enjoy focused and dedicated play in Kiltoonies – all while having the best time.
Award Winning Indoor Play Centre
Clare’s passion was rewarded when Kiltoonies was voted Most Loved Indoor Play Venue in the 2023 National Children’s Activities awards by What’s On for Kids, sponsored by the Association of Indoor Play.
I feel so lucky and so very grateful to be Mayor of Kiltoonies every single day.
